Baldwin EMC is sending 21 employees from multiple departments to assist Wiregrass Electric Cooperative in Hartford, Ala., with their power restoration efforts following Hurricane Helene. The crews will depart on Friday, September 27.
“Baldwin EMC is always glad for the opportunity to send crews and share our resources with other cooperatives in need of assistance,” says Baldwin EMC CEO Hunter Robinson. “Mutual aid is something the co-op places great value in because we know the difference it makes and the reassurance it provides. Whether we are giving assistance or receiving it, we’re grateful to be a part of a community of mutual aid.”
Wiregrass Electric Cooperative, which serves almost 27,000 meters in southeast Alabama is preparing for large-scale power outages in the wake of Hurricane Helene.
Baldwin EMC is part of a nationwide network of electric cooperatives that assist each other in times of natural disasters. Baldwin EMC has provided assistance numerous times to other cooperatives across the southeast following hurricanes, tornadoes and ice storms.
