Donors saved more than 230 lives during Baldwin EMC’s 18th annual Power of Giving drive on November 9.
Representatives from LifeSouth Community Blood Centers were on site early Thursday morning and collected a total of 79 donations from Baldwin EMC’s employees, members and community. All of the donations will benefit hospitals across southwest Alabama and the Florida panhandle.
“We asked, and the community delivered! Every year, I am somehow still amazed by the generosity that pours in for our Power of Giving Drive,” said Mark Ingram, vice president of corporate services and public relations at Baldwin EMC. “Thank you to all those who took the time to donate. We are so grateful.”
With Veterans Day falling so close to the event, Baldwin EMC took the opportunity to honor local veterans through a supply drive. Items from food to clothing were all collected for the William F. Green Veterans Home in Bay Minette, Ala.
“The supplies collected will make a difference in the lives of some of our local heroes. It’s a small way we can say thank you for the sacrifices the veterans made for us to live in freedom,” said Ingram.
