A low SEER — Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio — from your home’s heating and cooling system indicates you’re not as efficient as you could be. Raising your SEER means lowering your energy costs, and you can do that by upgrading to a high-efficiency dual-fuel or ductless mini-split heat pump. Baldwin EMC can make your purchase of a high-efficiency heat pump easier by offering rebates to single-family homeowners — saving you money in energy costs now and in the future.

Check out your possible rebate from the chart below:

How can you take advantage of the Heat Pump Rebate Program?
Baldwin EMC encourages any members interested in replacing an old or inefficient air conditioning and heating system in single-family dwellings to take advantage of our Heat Pump Rebate Program. The process is simple:

  1. Have a licensed air conditioning and heating contractor come to your home and perform a Manual J load calculation.
  2. Choose the new system* that’s right for your home and meets our requirements, and have your air conditioning and heating contractor install it. (*Note: The entire system must be replaced to be eligible for a heat pump rebate.)
  3. Call Baldwin EMC and speak to one of our energy marketing specialists to arrange an inspection. You will also need to provide the Manual J load calculation results.
  4. Get approval from Baldwin EMC and receive your rebate. (Approval is based upon inspection and Manual J load calculation, which must be provided before a rebate can be issued. A Manual J load calculation is the industry standard developed by the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) to determine the heating and cooling needs of an individual home.)

Manufactured Home Heat Pump Rebate
If you’re a member who owns a manufactured home or is in the market for this type of housing, let us help make your residence more energy-efficient and reduce your heating costs by an average of $550 per year. We’re offering incentives to upgrade electric furnaces to high-efficiency heat pumps in new or existing manufactured homes.

New Manufactured Home Program
If the manufactured home you’re purchasing comes with an electric furnace, we’ll give you a rebate within the parameters of the above chart to upgrade the furnace to a heat pump. The rebate is paid directly to the home dealer at the point of sale, without adding anything to the mortgage. There is also a manufactured home dealer incentive of $100 per home.

Existing Manufactured Home Program
You can get a rebate up to $400 per ton for replacing an electric furnace with a high-efficiency heat pump. There is also an HVAC dealer incentive of $100 per home.
