Operation Round Up Presents Grant to Local Charity

The Baldwin County Electric Membership Charitable Foundation presented a grant to a local agency in July, the Robertsdale Rotary Foundation. The funds will be used to send individuals with special needs to Camp ASCCA (Alabama’s Special Camp for Children and Adults) and high school students to youth leadership camp at NAS Pensacola.

This grant was made possible through Baldwin EMC’s Operation Round Up program. This program collects money for charitable causes by rounding up participating members’ electric bills to the next highest dollar amount. The extra change is then used to fund grants.

Grants must meet one of six qualifying categories: food, clothing, shelter, health, environment and education.

The Rotary has a motto of service above self, with a mission to provide service to others, promote integrity and advance world understanding, goodwill and peace through their fellowship of business, professional and community leaders.
