Wayne Givens, a journeyman lineman for Baldwin EMC, was recently named a Paul Harris Fellow recipient by the Robertsdale Rotary Club. The award recognized Givens’ contributions to the club’s fund raising events over the past several years. Givens was recognized during the Rotary club’s annual awards ceremony.
Robertsdale Rotary Club President Chad Thomas said this was a special honor for Givens, because it’s rare that the award is presented to a non-member. However, Thomas explained that Givens’ willingness to help out at various events like the annual Robertsdale Rotary Club Rodeo made him very deserving of the award.
Givens has been with Baldwin EMC for the past 25 years and currently works with the cooperative’s large construction crew.
The Paul Harris Fellowship was created in honor of Paul Harris, who founded Rotary more than 100 years ago as the world’s first service club organization.
