(SUMMERDALE, Ala.) – Baldwin EMC is excited to announce the latest recipients of the Shining Star Student award. These students were nominated for displaying characteristics of integrity, innovation, accountability, and commitment to community.
Edward McKiver, an eighth-grade student at Fairhope Middle School, was named Baldwin EMC’s Shining Star Student of the Month for October. He was nominated by his teacher, Mykel Williams.
Williams wrote in his nomination that Edward is a dedicated student who supports teachers and his peers. “Edward consistently goes above and beyond to assist others, demonstrating leadership, responsibility, and a genuine commitment to helping his fellow students succeed,” wrote Williams.
Elly Quarles, an eighth-grade student at Foley Middle School, was named Baldwin EMC’s Shining Star Student of the Month for November. She was nominated by her teacher, Marilyn Ward.
Ward says Elly is a leader on campus and a Shining Star at Foley Middle School. “She demonstrates accountability by upholding the standards of her clubs and sports she participates in. She is always on the search for ways to help others reach their potential” wrote Ward.
The awards were presented by WALA FOX 10 TVs Meteorologist Nicholas Herboso and Baldwin EMCs Education and Public Relations Specialist Caroline Shanor.
