Baldwin EMC Crews Help Florida Co-ops Restore Power

A total of 21 Baldwin EMC employees departed for Florida on Thursday and Friday to help restore power following Hurricane Hermine, which made landfall at approximately 1:30 a.m. Friday morning.

The efforts started ahead of the storm on Thursday morning when three Baldwin EMC crewmen traveled to Live Oak, Fla., to assist the team at Suwannee Valley Electric Cooperative in preparation measures.

On Friday morning, an additional 18 men left for Quincy, Fla., to help the crews of Talquin Electric Cooperative, Inc., in power restoration and storm recovery efforts.

Baldwin EMC is part of a nationwide network of electric cooperatives that assist each other in times of natural disasters. Baldwin EMC has provided assistance numerous times to other cooperatives across the southeast following hurricanes, tornadoes and ice storms.
