Baldwin EMC Crews to Assist Talquin Electric Cooperative with Power Restoration

Baldwin EMC sent 21 employees from the right of way, operations and transportation departments to assist Talquin Electric Cooperative in Quincy, Fla., with their power restoration efforts following Hurricane Debby. The crews departed on Monday, August 5.

“Baldwin EMC is always glad for the opportunity to send crews and share our resources with other cooperatives in need of assistance,” says Baldwin EMC CEO Karen Moore. “Mutual aid is something the co-op takes great value in because we can still remember, all too well, what it was like to be on the receiving end of it. Whether we are giving assistance or receiving it, we’re grateful to be a part of a community of mutual aid.”

Talquin Electric Cooperative, which serves approximately 57,000 homes in northwest Florida, experienced outages affecting nearly half of their members due to Hurricane Debby.

Baldwin EMC is part of a nationwide network of electric cooperatives that assist each other in times of natural disasters. Baldwin EMC has provided assistance numerous times to other cooperatives across the southeast following hurricanes, tornadoes and ice storms.
