Baldwin EMC Donates $6,400 to Pink Heals of Lower Alabama

Baldwin EMC recently made a donation totaling $6,400 to the Orange Beach Fire Department’s Guardians of the Ribbon to benefit their “Pink Heals” program. The proceeds were the result of the cooperative’s annual Pink Power campaign.

During the month of October, Baldwin EMC conducted an employee raffle to raise money to support the program. The co-op’s operations crews also wore pink hard hats during the month to draw attention to the campaign and raise awareness for the fight against all types of cancer.

Pink Power was launched in 2011 and was originally designed to educate the local community about the prevalence of breast cancer, as well as to raise funds for charitable organizations that supported those fighting the disease. The program’s scope was expanded to include all types of cancer in 2018. To date, Baldwin EMC’s Pink Power campaign has raised more than $50,000 to benefit cancer research, local cancer patients and their families.

The Orange Beach Fire Department’s Pink Heals program raises funds to provide money for medical treatment and other basic necessities for those fighting cancer in the local community. Members of the department also conduct home visits to offer hope and support to cancer patients.
