Preston Parrish, a student at Fairhope Middle School, was named Baldwin EMC’s Shining Star Student of the Month for August. He was nominated by faculty member Lee Welch, for displaying the Touchstone Energy characteristics of integrity, innovation, accountability and commitment to community.
Ms. Welch wrote in her nomination, “Preston is a student-aide for our special education classroom for kids with multiple disabilities. He comes in for one period each day which he chose as his elective class. He is compassionate, humorous, loyal, and is intuitively responsive to each student.” Parrish was presented with a Shining Star Student certificate and a $50 Visa gift card.
The award was presented by WALA FOX 10 TV’s meteorologist Michael White, who also delivered a weather presentation to the class.
