Laney Elizabeth Haas, an eighth grade student at Fairhope Middle School, was named Baldwin EMC’s Shining Star Student of the Month for December. She was nominated by faculty member Karen Bartl for displaying the Touchstone Energy characteristics of integrity, innovation, accountability and commitment to community.
Ms. Bartl wrote in her nomination, “Laney is a student who lights up the classroom when she enters the room. Laney always has a smile on her face, is eager to help with anything that is asked of her, and is willing to help her fellow classmates.” Haas was presented with a Shining Star Student certificate and a $50 Visa gift card.
The award was presented by WALA FOX 10 TV’s meteorologist Michael White, who also delivered a weather presentation to the class.
