Baldwin EMC is excited to announce the latest recipients of the Shining Star Student award. These students were nominated for displaying characteristics of integrity, innovation, accountability and commitment to community.

George Cramer, an eighth-grade student at Summerdale School, was named Baldwin EMC’s Shining Star Student of the Month for August. He was nominated by his teacher, Haley Hrabovsky.

Hrabovsky wrote in her nomination that George stands out as an exceptional student. “His dedication as a student-athlete is evident in his unwavering commitment to excellence in all his endeavors. During cross-country practice, he goes above and beyond by picking up litter, demonstrating his respect for the environment and his desire to maintain a clean campus,” wrote Hrabovsky. “In the classroom, George is always willing to lend a helping hand to his classmates, whether during lessons or transitions between activities.”

Cambrey McConaghy, an eighth-grade student at Daphne Middle School, was named Baldwin EMC’s Shining Star Student of the Month for September. She was nominated by her teacher, Melissa Sessions.

 Sessions says that Cambrey is such a light and brings positive energy with her everywhere she goes. “She is loyal and dedicated not only to her sport, volleyball, but to everything she is involved in. In the classroom, she is an active contributor and inspires those around her to stay involved and give every task 100%,” wrote Sessions. “She brings out the best in everyone, and I love seeing her smiling face walking the halls!”

The awards were presented by WALA FOX 10 TVs Meteorologist Nicholas Herboso and Baldwin EMCs Education and Public Relations Specialist Caroline Shanor.
