Baldwin EMC is excited to announce the latest recipients of the Shining Star Student award. These students were nominated for displaying the Touchstone Energy characteristics of integrity, innovation, accountability and commitment to community.
Savannah Grace, a seventh grade student at Bay Minette Middle School, was named Baldwin EMC’s Shining Star Student of the Month for December. She was nominated by faculty member Colleen Beason.
Ms. Beason wrote in her nomination, “Savannah shows great leadership in class. She is always willing to help other students, she answers questions that may be asked of the class, and she is always prepared. Savannah is on the volleyball team and Coach Herrion has said that she is a leader on the volleyball team as well. Savannah is an excellent student who has the drive to be a great leader at Bay Minette Middle School.” Grace was presented with a Shining Star Student certificate and a $50 Visa gift card.
Paige Boyette, an eighth grade student from Central Baldwin Middle School, was named Baldwin EMC’s Shining Star Student of the Month for January. She was nominated by faculty member Tara Singletary.
Ms. Singletary wrote in her nomination, “Paige has a very kind disposition, is always pleasant and is always positive. She goes out of her way to help other students, stepping in to offer help in explaining a concept, offering examples, or completing a task with which another student may be struggling. Additionally, she often asks if I need any help in class. She truly has excellent character, and I proudly nominate her as the Shining Star for CBMS.” Boyette was presented with a Shining Star Student certificate and a $50 Visa gift card.
The awards were presented by WALA FOX 10 TV’s meteorologist Michael White, who also delivered a weather presentation to each recipient’s class.
