Baldwin EMC Honors Shining Star Students for February and March

Baldwin EMC is excited to announce the latest recipients of the Shining Star Student award. These students were nominated for displaying characteristics of integrity, innovation, accountability and commitment to community.

Alice Handmacher, a seventh-grade student at Fairhope Middle School, was named Baldwin EMC’s Shining Star Student of the Month for February. She was nominated by her teacher, Rachel Stewart.

Stewart wrote in her nomination that Alice is a shining light, with a huge heart. “Alice gracefully handles all of the challenges this world throws at her,” wrote Stewart. “She encourages me to see the best in everyone and to live each day to the fullest.”

Harleigh Brockett, an eight-grade student at Foley Middle School, was named Baldwin EMC’s Shining Star Student of the Month for March. She was nominated by her teacher, Marilyn Ward.

“Harleigh is a true example of a Shining Star on Foley Middle School’s campus,” wrote Ward. “She is honest and hardworking, maintaining grades that put her in the upper part of her class.”

The awards were presented by WALA FOX 10 TVs Meteorologist Nicholas Herboso and Baldwin EMCs Education and Public Relations Specialist Caroline Shanor.
