Baldwin EMC is excited to announce the latest recipients of the Shining Star Student award. These students were nominated for displaying characteristics of integrity, innovation, accountability and commitment to community.
Brayden Hobbs, an eighth-grade student at Central Baldwin Middle School, was named Baldwin EMC’s Shining Star Student of the Month for February. He was nominated by his science teacher, Amanda Horton.
Horton wrote in her nomination that Brayden is a wonderful student who makes Central Baldwin Middle School a better place. “Beyond his impressive work ethic, Brayden carries himself with a level of integrity and respect that is rare to see,” wrote Horton. “He treats everyone around him with genuine kindness, acting as a natural leader and a steady role model for his peers. He doesn’t do the right thing for the recognition; he does it because it’s who he is.”
John Stidham, an eighth-grade student at Perdido School, was named Baldwin EMC’s Shining Star Student of the Month for March. He was nominated by the school’s principal, Charlotte Andrews.
Andrews describes John as a student with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. “What truly sets John apart is his character. He treats others with kindness and fairness, demonstrates honesty in his actions, and takes responsibility for his choices,” wrote Andrews. “He is the type of student who inspires others simply by doing the right thing.”
The awards were presented by WALA FOX 10 TVs Meteorologist Nicholas Herboso and Baldwin EMCs Education and Public Relations Specialist Caroline Shanor.
