Baldwin EMC is excited to announce the latest recipients of the Shining Star Student award. These students were nominated for displaying the characteristics of integrity, innovation, accountability and commitment to community.
Bentley Colby, an eighth-grade student at Elberta Middle School, was named Baldwin EMC’s Shining Star Student of the Month for October. He was nominated by the school’s principal, Thomas Duffy.
Duffy wrote in his nomination that Colby is the epitome of kindness and humility. “Bentley consistently shows respect for his peers and goes out of his way to support those around him. He is incredibly aware of his classmates’ needs, often stepping in to defend others and offer encouragement when it’s needed most,” wrote Duffy. “Bentley handles every situation with maturity and grace, making him a reliable and uplifting presence in our school.”
Paige Biehl, an eighth-grade student at Spanish Fort Middle School, was named Baldwin EMC’s Shining Star Student of the Month for November. She was nominated by multiple teachers.
Paige is described by her choir teacher, Caylen Stewart, as a positive hardworking student. Another teacher, Aubrey Fendley, describes her as an exceptional individual. “Her pursuit of excellence is matched only by her willingness to help her peers and contribute to the school community,” wrote Fendley. “I feel truly blessed to have had the opportunity to teach her, and I am excited to see the incredible things she will accomplish in the future, as well as her commitment to helping others achieve their dreams.”
The awards were presented by WALA FOX 10 TVs Meteorologist Nicholas Herboso and Baldwin EMCs Education and Public Relations Specialist Caroline Smith.
