Baldwin EMC to Host 19th Annual Power of Giving Drive

Once again, Baldwin EMC is calling on members of the community to celebrate the season of giving by rolling up their sleeves to save lives. The co-op will host the 19th annual Power of Giving blood and veterans supply drive at the Baldwin EMC headquarters office in Summerdale on Thursday, November 7. The co-op is honoring veterans this year and will be donating the supplies collected to the William F. Green Veterans Home in Bay Minette, Ala.

“Last year our team came up with the idea to host a veterans supply drive in correlation with our Power of Giving blood drive and Veterans Day. The response was so overwhelming we knew we had to do it again this year,” said Mark Ingram, vice president of corporate services and public relations at Baldwin EMC. “Every year, we are amazed by our community’s participation in our blood drive and donating supplies, and last year was no different. We look forward to another successful drive.”

Staff members from LifeSouth Community Blood Centers will be set up in Baldwin EMC’s Training Center in Summerdale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. To give blood, you must be in good health, 17 years of age or older, weigh at least 110 pounds and show a valid photo I.D. Questions about whether or not you can donate should be directed to LifeSouth at (251) 621-9644.
