Operation Round Up Presents Grant to Local Agency

The Baldwin County Electric Membership Charitable Foundation recently presented a grant to Ecumenical Ministries of Baldwin County. The grant was made possible through Baldwin EMC’s Operation Round Up program.

Ecumenical Ministries of Baldwin County is a social service agency that provides aid for local residents.

Since 2004, Baldwin EMC’s Operation Round Up program has collected money for charitable causes by rounding up participating members’ electric bills to the next highest dollar amount. The extra change is then used to fund grants. To date, the program has distributed more than $6.5 million in grants to local agencies and individuals in need. Grants must meet one of six qualifying categories: food, clothing, shelter, health, environment, and education.

Baldwin Electric Membership Charitable Foundation Board Members (back row, from left), Scott Moeller, David Combs, Albert Lipscomb, (middle row, from left) Jennie Smallwood, Debbie Kline, Bonnie Schell, and (front row, left) Clara Myers presented a grant to Ecumenical Ministries Executive Director Sally Deane.
