The Baldwin County Electric Membership Charitable Foundation presented three grants in December to local charitable organizations. The donations were made possible through Baldwin EMC’s Operation Round Up program, which collects money for charitable causes by rounding up participating members’ electric bills to the next highest dollar amount, with the extra change used to fund grants. Grants must meet one of the six qualifying categories which are food, clothing, shelter, health, environment and education.

These organizations received grants in December:

  • Ecumenical Ministries, a faith-based social services organization which will provide assistance with food, shelter and health needs to underprivileged individuals
  • North Baldwin White Christmas, a northern Baldwin County agency which provided assistance during Christmas to those in need of food and clothing
  • Youth Reach Gulf Coast, a Christ-centered home providing shelter to at-risk young men and improving their lives
