The Baldwin County Electric Membership Charitable Foundation presented grants to 10 local charities in the first quarter of 2015. These grants were made possible through Baldwin EMC’s Operation Round Up program, which collects money for charitable causes by rounding up participating members’ electric bills to the next highest dollar amount, with the extra change used to fund grants. Grants must meet one of the six qualifying categories: food, clothing, shelter, health, environment and education.
Grants were presented to the following organizations:
- Christian Service Center
- The Shoulder
- South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce
- North Baldwin White Christmas
- Ecumenical Ministries
- Eastern Shore Chamber Foundation
- Catholic Social Services
- Unshackled by the Truth
- University of South Alabama Baldwin County Campus
- United Way of Baldwin County
